Roundup: Watson paces Spartans over Liberty Christian

Greenbrier East 54, Liberty Christian Academy (Va.) 50

FAIRLEA — Rondale Watson poured in 25 points and grabbed eight rebounds and Greenbrier East rallied from a six-point deficit after three quarters to defeat Liberty Christian Academy (Va.) Friday.

Josh Tunstalle added 11 points and Obi Romeo scored nine points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Spartans.

Jordan Tillas led Liberty Christian with 19 points and B.J. Farrow scored 14 points.

Greenbrier East (5-2) hosts sectional rival Woodrow Wilson tonight.

HINTON — Terry Smith tossed in 21 points and Matt Ryan added 16 points to lead the Summers County Bobcats past Greenbrier West Friday.

Point guard Ashton Garten scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Dacota Thomas had 15.

Caleb Hamrick led the Cavaliers with 15 points, Jared Jennings chipped in 14 and Austin Ransom had 11.

Summers County (3-3) hosts sectional rival Wyoming East Wednesday.

Greater Beckley Christian 75, Man 61

MAN — Greater Beckley outscored Man 26-11 in the fourth quarter to defeat the pesky Hillbillies Friday on the road.

The Crusaders placed four players in double figures led by Elisha Kidd with 22 points and a double-double by Javonne Staunton-Bailey who scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Freshman Isaiah Francis added 16 points while dishing out eight assists and grabbing eight steals and Brent Daniels chipped in 11 points for the Crusaders.

John Keffer led Man with 17 points and Jake Adkins had 15.

Greater Beckley (4-0) hosts Teays Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m.
