GHENT —
A 22-year-old Beckley man was killed Monday around 6:30 p.m. in a car crash near Ghent, according to the Turnpike detachment of the West Virginia State Police.
Jarred S. Wellman was pronounced dead at the scene after police say his Ford Explorer ran off the road, flipped, and landed on the driver’s side. No other vehicles were involved in the accident and no other injuries were reported.
Police say the mishap occurred at mile marker 28 on the southbound side of I-77 near Ghent.
All four lanes of the interstate were shut down about one hour.
