BECKLEY —
A former treasurer of the West Virginia Library Association pleaded guilty Wednesday before Raleigh County Circuit Court Judge H.L. Kirkpatrick to one count of fraud with an access device and four counts of felony embezzlement.
Jewell Annett Ayers, 42, of Shady Spring, admitted to using the West Virginia Library Association’s debit card and checkbook for multiple personal transactions, totaling between $37,000 and $42,000 from December 2005 and all throughout 2006 and 2007.
Kirkpatrick sentenced her to serve five years for the count of fraud with an access device and one to 10 years for each of the four counts of felony embezzlement, all to be served consecutively.
He suspended the sentence, placing Ayers on five years probation and ordered her to pay restitution.
