Union woman killed Friday in two-vehicle crash

LEWISBURG — A Union woman was killed Friday in a motor vehicle accident on U.S. Route 219, just north of Lewisburg, according to Greenbrier County Sheriff James W. Childers.

 Phyllis Heller, age 74, was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff said. The investigation showed that Heller’s vehicle entered the roadway from a side street into the path of oncoming traffic and was then struck by a northbound vehicle driven by a resident of Renick. The accident happened at approximately 6:40 p.m.

No charges are expected to be filed.

Lewisburg Police are assisting the sheriff’s department in the ongoing investigation.
