BECKLEY —
An Oak Hill man was jailed Thursday after several charges involving the sexual molestation of children were filed against him, police said.
Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler said Clinton Hayes Richardson, 62, was charged with nine counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or custodian, eight counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count of first-degree sexual assault.
Kessler said Clinton allegedly sexually abused multiple children over a period of several years. Most were family members, Kessler added.
Clinton was being held at Southern Regional Jail on $240,000 bond.
Clinton’s wife, Sandra Richardson, 62, was also arrested on a single felony charge of child neglect creating the risk of an injury, police said, stemming from allegations that several of the children victimized by Clinton reported the abuse to her and she failed to act and protect the children, police said
Her bond was set at $2,500.
