A Glen Morgan woman was killed Thursday night in her yard when she was struck by a truck.
Dianne Wyatt, 53, was standing on her property at 103 Covington Drive when a westbound 1991 Chevrolet truck driven by 25-year-old Joshua Burnette of Pemberton left Sullivan Road and entered her yard, according to Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department authorities.
Wyatt was struck and killed, authorities said.
The truck then struck a 1992 Chevrolet Blazer that was occupied by Wyatt’s 22-year-old niece, Samantha Derringer, of the Beaver area.
Derringer was taken to Beckley-Appalachian Regional Hospital and treated for injuries.
Wyatt was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
The accident occurred around 10 p.m.
No charges had been filed Friday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing, Cpl. T.L. Miles said.
Miles and Deputy M.P. Gunther are investigating the incident.
