Abandoned house burns in Rhodell
Firefighters from three Raleigh County fire departments were on the scene of an abandoned house fire on Coal City Road in Rhodell Friday evening.
The fire was reported around 7:40 p.m., a supervisor at the Emergency Operations Center said.
Rhodell, Coal City, and Sophia Area Fire Departments were still on the scene at press time.
No other information was available.

For the second year in a row, the Armstrong Creek Volunteer Fire Department was victorious in Saturday’s 18th annual Fireman’s Rodeo competition.
Six teams competed and Armstrong Creek won a cash prize along with a trophy, “The Battle of the Ax,” which will be displayed at the station. The trophy will be returned prior to the next competition. -
