BECKLEY — Few Pumpkin Festival patrons braved the rain and cold outside Sunday at Burlington United Methodist Family Services, but a dry option was available inside.

The seventh annual quilt show was hosted alongside the pumpkin festival, offering a look at some impressive works of art inside and away from the rain.

This year 30 quilts were entered and each had a unique theme.

Gift certificates were awarded for Best of Show, People’s Choice, Judges’ Choice and Seasonal Favorite.

The Judges’ Choice award went to Karen Hollingshead for her quilt called “Crazy Memories.”

Materials in the quilt were made of pieces of clothing and parts of an army uniform.

Another quilt showed a seamstress’ love of sports in her blue and gold West Virginia University-themed blanket.

Diane Warner created a special quilt made from neckties.

The seventh annual quilt show was sponsored by Colony Drug and Wellness Center and gift certificates were donated by The Quilt Shoppe in Summersville, Nancy’s Fabrics in Ronceverte, Charming Chick in Beckley, and Itchin’ 2 Be Stichin’ in Beckley.
