— On Thursday, the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce’s Business After Hours gave attendees the chance to break away from the stress of this week’s storm and take a walk through a winter wonderland of trees.

Business After Hours, hosted by Lewis Automotive, doubled as a preview of The United Way of Southern West Virginia’s 4th Annual Wonderland of Trees.

Executive Director Margaret O’Neal said the United Way was fortunate to have the opportunity to showcase their 54 seven-and-a-half-foot-tall trees inside Lewis Automotive’s spacious showroom.

Lewis Automotive Co-owner Sarah Abrams, who has been a committee member for the “Wonderland of Trees” event for four years, said she wanted to “help the United Way have a home for this fundraiser. This is a great seasonal event and we have a wonderful location to showcase it and we feel it will bring some new people through our doors as well.”

Lewis Automotive is now in its 82nd year as a family-owned and operated business. Fourth-generation owners and sisters Sarah Abram and Rachel Hopkins strive to offer the community a friendly and comfortable sales and service experience.

Lewis Automotive offers Nissan, Suzuki, Prius and pre-owned vehicles.

The community is invited to stop by Lewis Automotive to talk with the sales department or take a stroll through the trees. The decorated Wonderland of Trees will be on display Nov. 2-16. Visitors can vote for their favorite tree for a $1 donation to the United Way. Votes may also be cast online this year at www.wonderlandoftrees. org. Voters will be registered to win a flat screen television for each vote.

O’Neal said there are a few trees left to sponsor if businesses and organizations act quickly. Call 304-253-2111 for more information.

Eight wreaths will be part of a silent auction over the next two weeks and collector edition tree ornaments will be on sale in the showroom as well.
