DUI Sobriety Checkpoint

Beckley Police will conduct a DUI Sobriety Checkpoint from 8 p.m. Friday August 30, until 2 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, on W.Va. 3 South Fayette St. near Beaver Avenue. An alternate location will be U.S. 19.

The checkpoint will be supported by roving DUI Enforcement Patrols throughout the evening and night time hours.

Officers will be looking for impaired drivers, underage drinking and those driving on suspended or revoked driver’s licenses.

The purpose of the DUI Checkpoint is to deter impaired driving and to increase awareness about the dangers of drinking and driving.

The Beckley Police Department and SRHSP encourage the motoring public to drive safely and designate a sober driver if consuming alcohol.

The DUI Checkpoint is funded by the Southern Regional Highway Safety Program.
