Knitting Retreat at Camp Horseshoe will be Sept. 16-18. The clicking of knitting needles will replace the usual sounds of children’s laughter during the three days of fun, knitting, fellowship and a way to get some new ideas and meet a group of people.
Sandra Tolin, owner of Yarn and Co. in Elkins, along with Suzanne Brown and Frances Shaffer will once again instruct knitters of all ages at the Camp Horseshoe Retreat.
You will have the choice of projects such as Beginning Knitting, Fan & Feather Shawl, Cable Hat, Basic Crochet, Small Mitered Bag, Cross Hatch Scarf and Needle Felting.
A special basket-making workshop will be Friday with Joni Neubert from Dryfork. Also an ongoing Show and Tell Gallery will be available for viewing during the retreat.
“If you want, just bring your very own project or unfinished project(s) to work on,” says Mary Smith, who coordinates the program.
YMCA Camp Horseshoe is located near Leadmine in Tucker County’s Monongahela National Forest.
