GED test to be given this week in Beckley


BECKLEY — The next GED test will be given Wednesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Academy of Careers and Technology, beside Woodrow Wilson High School, 390 Stanaford Road, Beckley.

It takes two days to complete the entire test; therefore, you must be present both days of testing, you must be present at least 20 minutes before the testing time, and you must have your photo ID with you both days of testing.

If school is canceled for any reason on the testing dates, testing will be held when school is back in session.

To register, a candidate must present a current state photo identification with name, date of birth and current address. Seventeen and 18-year-olds must meet school withdrawal requirements; 17-year-olds must be accompanied by a parent/guardian; 16-year-olds must meet eligibility criteria. If you have a documented disability, you may qualify for accommodations.

There is no charge for the practice test, preparation classes, orientation or the GED test; however, you must pass the official practice test and submit your test ticket, photo ID and GED voucher to the ABE Center at least one week prior to the testing date.

Seating is limited at each testing session.
