SOPHIA — Aspiring artists and those wishing to possibly see their creative handiwork set off by flashing blue lights are invited to enter Fayetteville Police Department’s art contest and take a shot at designing the decal for the department’s new 2014 Ford Taurus cruisers.

Their current cruisers sport a kelly green and yellow decal, and the department said that they would like to see a similar color scheme for their next decal. Participants have the option to include the police department patch or badge, or use the official seal for the Town of Fayetteville.

The contest is open to any resident of the Town of Fayetteville; Fayetteville Elementary, Middle and High School students are especially encouraged to enter. The winner will receive a $100 cash prize and his or her photo in the Fayette Tribune.

Design renderings should be sent to the Fayetteville Police Department no later than Oct. 7. For questions call the police department by calling 304-574-0255.
