Arrest made after meth lab was uncovered

— Fayette County Sheriff’s Deputies made an arrest Monday in conjunction with the Sept. 10 report that a clandestine methamphetamine laboratory was being operated in Meadow Bridge. Upon arriving at the scene to investigate last week, suspect Matthew Dale Fox, 43, of Meadow Bridge, fled the area on foot. Deputies discovered a crude meth lab in an abandoned building.

An arrest warrant for in connection to the operation of the lab was obtained Thursday in the Fayette County Magistrate Court.

Fox was located and arrested Monday afternoon to later be arraigned in the Magistrate Court of Fayette County and released on a $1,500 bond.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies were able to locate Fox due to numerous tips from the public through both the Crime Tips section of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office website, www.fayettesheriffwv.net, as well as through the department’s Facebook page.

Fayette County Sheriff Steve Kessler released a statement that he was very grateful to the community members who directly contributed to the quick arrest of Fox.
