Names released in Wyoming County drug sweep

Law enforcement officials have combed Wyoming County the past few days, armed with warrants for 37 suspects wanted in conjunction with illegal drug activities, according to Sheriff Randall Aliff.

Those suspects are facing more than 100 felony counts, according to officials.

Prescription pills, cash and weapons were also confiscated in the sweep.

In conjunction with the Southern Violent Crime and Drug Task Force, West Virginia State Police and Pineville Police Department, the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Department has been working this investigation for more than a year, Aliff explained.

“These investigations don’t happen overnight,” he emphasized. “We’ve got video buys on these dealers.

“We’ve made other drug arrests all along during this year,” the sheriff noted. “This is ongoing.”
