W.Va. Fellowship of Christian Athletes plans trip to the holy land

— South Central West Virginia Fellowship of Christian Athletes will make a spring break trip to Israel March 6-16.

The itinerary includes the West Bank (Palestine), hiking the Jesus Trail from Nazareth through the Galilee to the Mt. of Beatitudes.

The day hikes will take the group through Cana, where the first miracle was performed by Jesus, across the Galilee, through towns and villages and across the Horns of Hittin where the major defeat of the Crusaders took place.

After the Hike, the group will spend the night on the Sea of Galilee in the Roman city of Tiberius, then will proceed to Jericho, the oldest city in the world, and visit the Dead Sea and Jordan Baptism site. Then it’s on to Bethlehem to visit some sites there and in Jerusalem.

Coaches and will participate in some PE classes or team practices while there.

There is an option to spend an additional week with a possible visit to Petra in Jordan.
