Tobler sentenced to time in penitentiary

— Michelle Tobler, of Oceana, was sentenced in Wyoming County Circuit Court to a term of one to 10 years in the penitentiary following her guilty plea to felony obtaining goods by false pretenses.

Tobler was arrested after her employer discovered that someone had been using company funds to pay private bills. Tobler entered her plea on March 20.

Prosecuting Attorney Micheal Cochrane said, “I am very pleased with the disposition of this case. Stealing from others is very serious. The people of Wyoming County should feel safe in their homes and secure in the knowledge that their hard-earned money and property will not be taken by thieves. I will continue to do all that I can to see that those who steal are properly dealt with.

“Chief Roger Snow of the Pineville Police Department did a great job investigating this matter. He, along with State Police Trooper D.G. Pierson, gave the state all the evidence and information needed to handle this matter appropriately. I want to thank them for their hard work.”
