Greenbrier County voters are heading to the polls today to decide whether to extend the excess school levy that has been in place for nearly 40 years. It provides funding for personnel, programs and equipment.
The levy is estimated to raise more than $5.7 million annually, a figure that is approximately 13 percent of the school system’s general expense budget. The levy now in effect expires June, 30, 2014. For more information, visit www.greenbriercountyschools.org.
Voters will cast ballots at their usual polling place; the polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
