Two arrested for alleged break-in

Two men were at Southern Regional Jail Monday after allegedly breaking into Beckley-Stratton Middle School and fleeing from police into the woods behind the school, Beckley Police Department Lt. Dave Farley reported.

Mark Alexander Glenn Jr., 19, and Brandon Thomas Snuffer, 19, were charged with one count each of breaking and entering, fleeing from police, underage consumption, obstructing and providing false information to the police.

Two more suspects are expected to be charged in the incident, Farley added.

According to Farley, Beckley officers responded to an alarm call around 1:30 a.m. at the middle school, located on Grey Flats Road, and discovered that two windows had been broken and that the school had been entered.

They later discovered Glenn and Snuffer in a wooded area behind the school.

No property was stolen from the school, and the building was not damaged, according to Farley.

Cpl. Jeremy Young and Patrolman Joe Stewart are investigating the incident.
