Two men were arrested Tuesday by the Hinton Police Department after allegedly breaking into the City’s Street Garage on Temple Street where three chain saws were taken, reported Hinton Police Chief Derek Snavely.
Snavely confirmed Joe “Chipper” Fortner, 32, and Richard Dale Ward, 36, both of Hinton, were charged with breaking and entering, conspiracy to commit a crime and petit larceny.
Police arrived at the scene moments after a burglary alarm call and were able to track the suspects to a nearby residence.
Both Fortner and Ward have been remanded to Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond each.
Patrolmen T.D. McClung and Z.F. Mills were the investigating officers.
