One individual has died after a single-vehicle accident on Clear Fork Road in Clear Creek just before 2 p.m. Wednesday, confirmed Raleigh County Sheriff Steve Tanner.
Tanner said a female passenger was killed when the vehicle rolled-over several times and the driver, Olen Williams, of Clear Creek, was transported to Raleigh General Hospital and is in critical condition.
Police were in Clear Creek were following up on reports of a reckless, possibly intoxicated driver matching the vehicle’s description and Tanner said police suspect this accident is related.
The road was closed for nearly an hour and Jan-Care Ambulance Services and Clear Creek Fire Department responded to the scene, confirmed the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center.
Police were on the scene until nearly 5 p.m. and the accident remains under investigation by the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office.
