Annual NIE book sale begins today at Beckley dealership

From Staff Reports

— The Fourth Annual Newspapers in Education Used Book Sale begins today at Mountaineer Hyundai of Beckley.

Book lovers of all ages and interests will have a chance to look through books of all kinds to find something they haven’t yet read. Hours for the sale, that will also be conducted this Friday and Saturday, as well as Nov. 1-3, will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Carla Nelson, Register-Herald circulation sales and marketing manager, said “We have a gigantic selection of genres again this year including children’s, religious, juvenile, thrillers, suspense, mystery, reference, cookbooks, westerns, sports, how-to and science fiction.”

The best part of having all this variety — besides there being something for everyone — is that volunteers have worked tirelessly to organize the books so you can find what you’re looking for, she added.

And at $1 for hardbacks and 50 cents per paperback, reading is one of the cheapest forms of entertainment around. But besides getting a good deal, shoppers will walk away knowing they have helped benefit area school children through Newspapers in Education.
