Have a taste at T.O.O.T. today

LEWISBURG — Lewisburg’s annual Taste of Our Towns has proven to be one of the region’s most popular fall festivals. The celebration of food and beverages is set for today with its 28th edition from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The streets of downtown Lewisburg will be closed to vehicular traffic with nearly 50 food booths for festival-goers and entertainment on four stages.

Food choices will include a sampling from The Greenbrier, with chicken pot pie, pulled pork barbecue and nachos with wood-grilled chicken on the savory side, and coconut pound cake, housemade ice cream and peaches and cream.

New to TOOT are Stuart’s Smokehouse, which will serve up brisket, pulled pork and ribs to all the barbecue lovers, and Bella Casa, which will offer Italian morsels like meatballs and spinach ravioli.

Wine tastings, a beer garden, hot apple cider, freshly-made lemonade, iced tea and more will be offered.

All food and beverage purchases must be made with T.O.O.T. Tokens, which may be purchased at the festival. Cash will not be accepted at vendor booths.

Tokens will be available at Token booths situated throughout downtown between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

T.O.O.T.’s four stages will feature Colton Pack, Possum Holler Glee Club, Morgan Cornwell, Little Sparrow, Anne Cline and Corey Lee McQuade.

Those who plan to attend T.O.O.T. are advised that smoking is allowed only in designated areas and, although service animals are permitted, other dogs are not allowed in the festival venue.
