Concord University is hosting a pet food drive to benefit the Raleigh County Humane Society now through March 11.

“I am a huge pet lover and support the humane society and what they do,” said Pam Wallace, Concord’s Beckley-campus donations organizer. “Any help they can get is appreciated.”

Campuses in both Athens and Beckley will be collecting donations for the cause.

Collection boxes are located outside the Libby Alvis Dining Hall and in the Jerry and Jean Beasley Student Center at the Athens campus and at the front deck in the atrium at the Beckley campus.

The Raleigh County Humane Society took in almost 2,500 cats and dogs in the past year. They provide adoption opportunities, as well as public education for pet care post-adoption. The shelter is located on Grey Flats Road in Beckley.

Wallace encourages everyone to make any donation possible to provide a better life for the animals.

For more information, call Wallace at 304-256-0271 or the Raleigh County Humane Society at 304-253-8921.
