BECKLEY —
The Lost Parrot will host local musicians tonight to raise money for victims of the Jan. 2 fire that destroyed several businesses on North Heber Street.
Local musician Jason Lockart set up the event.
“As a musician, money is not something I can provide, but I can use my talents to organize many amazing musicians in our community. Musicians can donate time, and that will raise money and make a difference.”
A $5 pizza buffet is being offered with 100 percent of the funds raised going to the fire victims. At 9 p.m., a $5 donation will be requested as four bands begin to play.
The first 50 patrons who donate $10 at the door will receive a free shirt from one of the event sponsors. In an effort to increase the funds raised, there will be drawings for prizes.
Among the musicians scheduled to play are The Lost Boys (Jason Lockart), MoJo Thunder Kings (Stuart Hill), Blistered Nifkin (A lot of Kinders) and Motion Theatre.
The Beckley Fire Department will be special guests of honor for this event.
