Man arrested, arraigned on car break-in charges

LEWISBURG — A White Sulphur Springs man was arrested for a string of car break-ins in Lewisburg.

According to police reports, Steven Benjamin Adkins, 33, walked around the Rolling Hills subdivision and allegedly entered unlocked cars that were parked in the neighborhood.

Money was taken from several parked cars and Adkins was caught by surveillance video as he attempted to enter a locked car, police said.

Adkins was arrested by Lt. J.C. Dove of the Lewisburg Police Department on four counts each of tampering with an automobile and petit larceny.

He was arraigned before Greenbrier County Magistrate Brenda Smith and released on a $5,000 bond.

A spokesman for Lewisburg Police said further charges are pending.
