An early morning fire in Greenbrier County left a Rainelle family homeless Monday, officials said.
Area firefighters responded to the 101 W. Oak St. call around 5:30 a.m., according to official reports.
Rainelle, Danese, Rupert, Meadow Bridge and Quinwood fire departments fought the blaze until around 11 a.m. Monday, a spokesperson for the Greenbrier Emergency Operations Center reported.
Rainelle Police Chief J.P. Stevens directed traffic to safer routes while the fire was being extinguished.
No injuries were reported, but the home was destroyed.
Authorities suspect a candle may have caused the fire, but the incident is still under investigation.
