Beckley Police Department accepting applications

BECKLEY — The Beckley Police Department is accepting applications for police officers now through March 28 at 4:30 p.m.

Those who apply may take the City of Beckley’s Police Civil Service Commission’s entry level Probationary Police Officers test April 11 at 6 p.m. at the Beckley–Raleigh County Convention Center.

Applications to join the BPD are available between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. from the office of recorder-treasurer, located in the City Hall Municipal Building, 409 S. Kanawha St., Beckley, or downloaded at www.beckleypd.com under Police Officer Recruitment.

Applications must be received by the 4:30 p.m. March 28 deadline in order to take the Probationary Police Officers test.

Men and women from diverse backgrounds and disciplines are encouraged to apply. The minimum qualifications for a job under civil service are, 18 to 40 years old, high school diploma or GED, complete application, pass a written exam, pass polygraph and background, pass interview board, pass medical exam, drug screening, psychological and pass the physical agility test.
