BECKLEY —
Girl Scout cookies are on their way, announced Stacie Bolen, the Girl Scouts of Black Diamond membership coordinator.
More than 60,000 boxes will be delivered Saturday behind Grand Home Furnishings in Beckley and troop leaders will be picking up their troop’s orders between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and distributing them to their Scouts.
Bolen said cookies can expect to be delivered over the next week.
But don’t panic if you haven’t yet ordered or need to order more.
Bolen said cookies can be purchased at the Black Diamond Council office, 820 Johnstown Road, Beckley or from Girl Scout booths outside local businesses through March.
“Keep in mind that Black Diamond’s cookies are still only $3.50 per box while cookies costs in surrounding areas are higher,” she said.
And you aren’t just buying cookies, Bolen explained.
Every box of cookies purchased helps girls learn leadership skills, business ethics, money management and working with others.
Moreover, you’re supporting the largest girl-led business enterprise in the world, she added.
You can also find out how to order by calling 1-800-756-7616 or visiting http://www.bdgsc.org.
