Convicted felon wanted after search warrant

Beckley narcotics detectives say they are pursuing a convicted felon they say is considered armed and dangerous and who they want to find immediately.

Raushan Jellybread McDougald, 29, whose last known address was 122 Sour Street, Beckley, is wanted, Detective Lt. Gant Montgomery said. McDougald presently has two active felony warrants for wanton endangerment and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

However, he could face more charges, Montgomery said. Police are meeting with both state and federal prosecutors.

Around 11 a.m. Wednesday, detectives executed a search warrant at 122 Sour Street, Montgomery said. This is McDougalds grandmothers home, and he had been staying there. McDougald was not present at that time. The search warrant involved possible narcotics and firearms violations.

Inside, detectives found $2,920 in cash, a bullet for a .44-caliber Magnum and a fully-loaded .30-caliber SKS magazine, Montgomery said. They found other firearms-related items, plus digital scales and other drug-related evidence.

McDougald was already free on bond after being charged with drug-related crimes, Montgomery said.

Montgomery said McDougald is considered armed and dangerous, and he is known to carry firearms. He also warned that McDougald has been charged with violent crimes involving firearms in the past.

Anyone with information about McDougalds whereabouts is encouraged to call the Beckley Police Department at 304-256-1844 or 304-256-1720 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867.

Crime Stoppers also accepts tips online at www.crimestoppersofraleighco.org.

Montgomery noted those giving tips to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous. Crime Stoppers gives cash rewards for valid tips.
