An Ohio woman was killed early Saturday morning in a three-vehicle accident on the West Virginia Turnpike, police said.
State Police Lt. L.A. Bailes said Lacy Dawkins, 21, of Columbus, died at Raleigh General Hospital after the accident.
Bailes said the wreck took place at Interstate 77’s southbound 53-mile marker, near Pax. Around 8 a.m. last Saturday, the vehicle in which Dawkins was a passenger lost control on ice and snow. A second car struck that vehicle, and a third car struck the second.
The number of people injured in the wreck was not available, Bailes said.
Cpl. J.A. Jackson investigated the wreck, Bailes said.
