A little more than two weeks remain until the 79th annual Mac’s Toy Fund party gets under way at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center.
A variety of volunteers — individuals, church groups, school organizations, Boy and Girl Scouts, businesses and others —are working to ensure that this holiday is happy for more than 4,100 children in Raleigh County.
Shady Spring Middle and High School cheerleaders are collecting used coats. Drop-off locations are Chateau Interiors in Beckley; Kroger at Beaver, Harper Road and Beckley Crossing; CVS in Beaver; Walgreens in Beaver; Big Lots in Beckley; Chick-fil-A at Beckley Galleria; Family Coin Laundry; Raleigh General Hospital; The Register-Herald; Starbucks; and all Shady Spring schools.
Bike donations are being accepted at Beckley Fire Station No. 3 on Eisenhower Drive and behind the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center, and unwrapped new and used toys are being accepted at The Register-Herald, BJW Printing and the Beckley Sam’s Club.
