Female airlifted after ATV accident

A woman was airlifted Saturday after an ATV accident in Minden, authorities said.

The accident was reported at 3:27 p.m., according to information from the Fayette County Emergency Operations Center.

An EOC supervisor said the woman and her 10-year-old son were riding the ATV near ACE Adventure Resort when the accident occurred.

The woman was flown to Charleston Area Medical Center via HealthNet, and the 10-year-old was reportedly treated on scene for minor injuries and transported to Plateau Medical Center.

John Parker, public relations director for Jan-Care Ambulance Service, said three Jan-Care units responded, along with the Oak Hill Fire Department’s rope and rescue team.

General Ambulance and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department were also at the scene.
