A Summersville woman was killed after her car struck a tree and overturned Wednesday night, police said.
Sheila L. Taylor, 44, of 80 Cross Lane, Summersville, died Thursday at Charleston Area Medical Center, according to the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department.
Police said Taylor lost control of her 1999 Subaru Legacy on Whitewater Road. The car went off the roadway and into a ditch, then struck a tree. The car then overturned on its top and into a small creek.
The accident remains under investigation.
