One escaped inmate from the Mount Olive Correctional Complex remains at-large, and corrections officials say they believe he is in or near Wyoming County.
William Okey Cline, 25, was discovered missing during an Oct. 26 head count. He was an inmate at Mount Olive’s minimum-security Slayton Work Camp.
Cline was sentenced to 1 to 10 years in prison for daytime burglary in Wyoming County. He is considered low-risk and non-violent.
Corrections Commissioner Jim Rubenstein said authorities still believe Cline is in the Wyoming County vicinity. U.S. marshals and state and local law enforcement officers continue to search that area.
Cline is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound white man with brown hair and eyes. He has a Tazmanian devil tattoo on his left forearm and a “Wyoming County Outlaw” tattoo on his torso.
A second inmate who escaped from the work camp the same day turned himself in to Boone County authorities last Friday. Kenneth Ray Hager, 30, was serving time for burglary, grand larceny and breaking and entering in that county.
Those with information about Cline’s whereabouts are urged to call their local State Police detachments or Mount Olive at 304-442-7213.
