Nicholas County Circuit Judge Gary L. Johnson recently sentenced three defendants to prison.
Perry Lee Smearman II, 29, of Charleston, was sentenced to one to five years for failing to register as a sex offender.
Smearman served two and a half years for a 1999 conviction for first-degree sexual abuse against a young, female family member.
Alisha Renee Stinett, 24, of Craigsville, was sentenced to one to 15 years for delivery of a controlled substance.
Rodney Lee Hypes Sr., 48, of Summersville, received a two-to-10 year sentence for his August conviction for operating or attempting to operate a clandestine drug laboratory.

A fun day at school
Students who participated in a school fundraiser at Cranberry-Prosperity Elementary School sprayed their principal Becky Smith during a hot Friday. Smith was decked out in flippers, goggles and floaties during the fun. Smith paraded past students as they drenched her with water guns.
