About 4,466 acres in the New River Gorge area in Fayette, Raleigh and Greenbrier counties will sell at auction Nov. 14, with Woltz & Associates managing the sale, the company said Wednesday.
The sale includes land with more than 10 million board feet of hardwood sawtimber, as well as tracts bordering the New River Gorge National River.
“These tracts are excellent for hunting white-tail deer, black bear and wild turkey, making them suitable for both recreation and investment, as well as future development,” said Jim Woltz, president of Woltz & Associates. Tracts range from approximately 20 acres to 797 acres.
The property to be sold includes:
- About 1,584 acres in Fayette County, located just north of Thurmond. Most of the seven tracts adjoin the New River Gorge National River. Tracts range from about 26 to 397 acres.
- About 583 acres in Raleigh County, located along a public road near the Pluto Road/Bragg exit off Interstate 64, with more than 2 million feet of sawtimber. The property will sell in five tracts ranging from about 18 to 334 acres.
- About 475 acres in Greenbrier County, selling in four tracts ranging from about 85 to 106 acres. The tracts include excellent hunting and substantial stands of hardwood timber.
- Two additional tracts — of about 797 acres and 472 acres — in Greenbrier County totaling about 1,269 acres. A stream runs through the property, which is expected to draw interest for its hunting potential as well as future timber revenue.
- Eight stand-alone tracts in Fayette, Raleigh and Greenbrier counties, ranging from about 10 to 145 acres.
The sale will begin at 11 a.m. Nov. 14 at the Tamarack Conference Center in Beckley. Individuals interested in more information about the property may contact Woltz at 800-551-3588 or visit the company’s Web site at www.woltz.com.
