A man accused in a string of Oak Hill burglaries was placed behind bars last week.

Raymond Pauley, 30, of Oak Hill was charged with seven counts of breaking and entering and one count of grand larceny, said Oak Hill Police Chief Mike Whisman.

Whisman and Sgt. J.L. Kirk said Pauley is allegedly responsible for breaking and entering into numerous Oak Hill businesses including Transmaster Transmission, a paint store and insurance company, among others. Police say they were able to recover most of the stolen property.

Pauley was arrested Oct. 15 without incident. He was released the next day on $50,000 bond, officials said.
