Police: Vehicle recovered at break-in scene

By Amelia A. Pridemore

Raleigh County sheriff’s detectives say deputies recovered a vehicle believed to be involved in an early Monday morning liquor store break-in — at the crime scene.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, a man threw a rock through the glass door at Godfather’s Liquor in Bradley, said Sgt. Larry Lilly, chief of detectives. The suspect entered the store, but the alarm apparently frightened him. He is believed to have fled the store empty-handed. Deputies briefly pursued the suspect on foot, but he got away, Lilly said. A state Division of Forestry K-9 unit was brought to the scene, but the suspect has not been located.

Lilly noted deputies recovered a white Ford Escort at the scene. Detectives are presently reviewing surveillance footage, he said.

The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-to-late 20s. He is believed to have a goatee. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans. Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to call the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department at 304-255-9300 or Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867.
