Police say a Wyoming County middle school coach died when his vehicle was struck head-on by another vehicle that crossed the center line.
Stacy McLamb, 31, of Mullens, was pronounced dead at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley following the 6:46 a.m. accident Tuesday on W.Va. 10 near Pineville, according to Sheriff Randall Aliff.
Aliff said a vehicle driven by Deon Toler, 25, of Pineville, went across the center line, hitting McLamb’s vehicle head-on.
McLamb was an assistant coach for the Wyoming East seventh- and eighth-grade football team. He coached Mullens Middle School’s fifth- and sixth-grade girls basketball team last year. He was employed by the state Division of Highways in Pineville.
The investigation is continuing.
