Storms down trees, power lines

Authorities in a number of southern West Virginia counties were responding to reports of storm damage Friday night. Trees and power lines were reported down in a number of areas, including the Cool Ridge area in Raleigh County.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service issued severe thunderstorm warnings for parts of Greenbrier, Summers, Monroe and Mercer counties. The weather service warned of winds up to 65 mph.

Emergency dispatchers said they were busy handling multiple calls and were unable to provide further details.
