Official: No mold at Baileysville Elementary

By Jessica Farrish

Baileysville Elementary School does not have black mold, Wyoming County assistant schools superintendent James McGrady said Friday.

Several parents protested Thursday morning that the school had black mold, a dangerous mold that can cause serious illness.

“There is no black mold whatsoever in that school,” McGrady said. “Their health department sanitarian, Fred Cox, came down Wednesday and checked it.

“We got his report back early Thursday morning,” he added. “There is absolutely no black mold.”

McGrady said glue lodged between tiles on the floor may have caused the confusion.
