Alderson Fourth of July fireworks and events originally planned for Sunday have been canceled and rescheduled for tonight because of heavy rain.
The Ducks on the Greenbrier rubber ducky race is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Alderson Mini Park.
The race will be dependent on the rise of the Greenbrier River. At 7 p.m. the Half Bad Bluegrass Band and concessions are planned at Memorial Field. Admission will be free. At 9:30 p.m. a Grand Fireworks Display and finale will commence at Memorial Field.

City mourns retired police Capt. J.D. Meadows
Retired Capt. James Darrell “J.D.” Meadows, 57, of Shady Spring, passed away Saturday after suffering a long illness, but his impact on the community will not soon be forgotten.
