Four people were taken to a hospital after a wreck in the Slab Fork area, Raleigh County authorities reported.
The accident on Slab Fork Road, near the Coalfields Expressway, was reported at 10:43 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Raleigh County Emergency Operations Center. One vehicle, possibly two, were involved. One went into a ditch, overturned and its top caved in.
The four accident victims were taken to Raleigh General Hospital, the EOC said.
Utility pole and power line damage was reported in the area, but none was believed to be associated with the accident, the EOC said. Authorities said power lines were downed in Pemberton, but high winds were blamed. Also on Coal City Road, near Whitby, a tractor-trailer reportedly took down power lines. No injuries were reported in either incident.
