Authorities say a two-story apartment building on Poplar Street in Mullens caught fire around 7:11 Tuesday evening.
A Wyoming County EOC operator said the Mullens Fire Department was having trouble with the fire hydrants and were concerned with other close structures, so they called additional tankers. Although not yet confirmed, the EOC operator says that people will probably be displaced by the fire.
The cause and origin of the fire are unknown.
The Mullens, Pine-ville, Upper Laurel and Lester fire departments responded.
No further information is available. None of the fire departments could be reached for comment.
