Staff members and development officers, volunteers and board members of non-profit charitable organizations are invited to attend a June 16 seminar entitled “Giving in Challenging Times – A Tune Up.”
The program will be offered by Leave a Legacy, an outreach program of the National Committee on Planned Giving, at the Erma C. Byrd Higher Education Center, 300 University Drive, Beaver (near the Airport Rd. exit off I-64).
Due to the generous underwriting provided by A&F; Financial Advisors, there is no charge for the program. The Beckley Area Foundation, New River Community and Technical College and The Greater Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation are collaborating in an effort to notify local organizations about this event and support this learning opportunity.
The seminar will begin promptly at 1 p.m. and last until 2 p.m.
Attendees will learn about the global market meltdown, what happened and where we are headed. You will be taught the basic mechanics and mathematics of estate planning. Gain knowledge about transfer taxes and income taxes, about charitable giving and IRAs. Understand the psychology of giving from an adviser’s perspective; the process of discovery and high net worth personalities.
The speaker will be Cindy S. McGhee, CPA/PFS CTF, CRSP Senior Vice President, LLC member and investment advisor representative of A&F; Financial Advisors.
She has made numerous presentations concerning charitable giving and estate planning and specializes in trusts and estates, public and private foundations, charitable planned giving, estate planning for retirement benefits, retirement plan design, development of investment policy, and formulation of appropriate asset allocation strategies.
