Honoring its most prominent industry, Monroe County will stage the 55th annual Farmers’ Day celebration this weekend with fun for the whole family.
The festivities begin with the second annual Photograph Monroe County competition and a street dance featuring the musical stylings of Sundown Express on Friday evening. Held in the parking lot of Ashley’s IGA store, the dance begins at 8:30 p.m.
Early risers will want to be sure to tuck into the pancake breakfast at the Union Rescue Squad building on Pump Street in Union between 7 and 10 a.m. Saturday. Registration for the horse show is from 8 to 9 a.m., with the show starting at 10 a.m. on Hinkle’s farm.
