A Nicholas County man charged in May 2007 with soliciting 13-year-old girls over the Internet will spend at least 10 years in prison following a Tuesday hearing in federal court.
Aaron Cain Adkins, 36, of Summersville, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Charleston to attempting to persuade and entice a minor to engage in sexual intercourse, according to court spokeswoman Tracy Chapman.
The penalty for the felony is a minimum of 10 years and up to a life sentence in prison, and a $250,000 fine, Chapman said.
According to Chapman, a joint federal and state investigation revealed that in May 2007 Adkins created a MySpace account purporting to be a 16-year-old female. He then began contacting two 13-year-old girls via the Internet through the minors’ MySpace account.
Using the false identity, Adkins told the minors “she” had a friend who would pay $300 to have sex with the girls. Adkins asked when the minors would be willing to meet and suggested meeting near Kanawha Falls. ...

A fun day at school
