Several accidents reported


Snow or rain can’t be to blame for a handful of motor vehicle accidents that occurred Friday evening.

With the temperature lingering at the 60-degree mark, several accidents with injuries were reported.

Two vehicles were involved in an accident on Robert C. Byrd Drive in front of Crossroads Mall around 9 p.m., and at least one person was transported for injuries, a supervisor at the emergency operations center reported.

The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Department, Bradley-Prosperity Fire Department and General Ambulance responded.

In another accident, three EMS units were dispatched to Harper Road near the West Virginia Turnpike around 9:45 p.m. following a vehicle accident with injuries.

Beckley police, the Beckley Fire Department and Jan-Care Ambulance responded to the accident.

No other information was available.

In Fayette County, at least one person was transported to Plateau Medical Center for injuries. The accident was reported on Sanger Road in Oak Hill around 8:20 p.m.
