When a home or business is on fire, knowing that a fire truck is on the way can bring a sense of security into an emotional situation. Response from trained local firefighters with proper equipment and trucks is a luxury many people take for granted.
But the Rhodell Volunteer Fire Department has seen donations lag this year.
The department desperately needs the community to help pay for station maintenance, equipment and transportation.
“Support from the public is very important,” RVFD firefighter Michael Holshauser said Tuesday. “We rely on the public for the help and support we need.”
